  • tubular run-flat tyres by Continental are the measure of all things

The 103th edition of the legendary round in France is about to start soon, being held from 2 until 24 July. 21 stages again promise an outstanding level of cycling. Eleven out of eighteen ProTeams trust in race tires “handmade in Germany” in 2016 – more than ever before. The ProTeams riding on race tires by Continental in 2016 are AG2R, BMC Racing Team, Dimension Data, FDJ, IAM Cycling, Lampre-Merida, Lotto Soudal, Movistar Team, ORICA-BikeExchange, Team Katusha and Team Sky.

Pro’s trust in tubular tyres
Being the only German bicycle tire manufacturer to produce its tires in Germany, Continental supports teams and athletes with its handmade premium products in order to reach their specific goals.
Continental exclusively equips athletes with the “Competition ProLTD”, a tubular tire handmade in Germany. The Competition ProLTD is a specific development of the “Competition”, taking up the athlete’s specific requirements.
As a tubular tire the Competition is enabling the decisive advantage in the race. Tubular tires are glued directly on the rim. Athletes in this way benefit from the unique characteristic as run-flat tires. Even in the event of punctures the tire stays on the rim. As a consequence the athletes are enabled to continue their ride until their team mechanics arrive and are not forced to stop.
