Hanover, Germany, January 12, 2023. Continental has received original equipment approvals for the new compact SUV BMW X1 and is supplying the Munich-based premium manufacturer with EcoContact 6 Q tires in 18, 19 and 20 inches. And with the WinterContact TS 860 S, BMW dealerships are offering an exceptionally safe winter tire to get you through the cold months.
Continental developed the EcoContact 6 Q to support highly economical driving, whatever your vehicle’s drive type. This is achieved thanks to a special rubber compound that reduces energy absorption through the tire while the vehicle is in motion, which, in turn, reduces friction. In addition, Continental has optimized the tire tread and so further reduced rolling noise. The EcoContact 6 Q is also characterized by its exceptionally long service life and outstanding handling.
BMW X1 drivers can now also purchase the WinterContact TS 860 S, which has been officially approved for after-sales business, from tire dealers and BMW car dealerships. The development of this winter tire was aimed at ensuring precise handling on dry roads and outstanding handling characteristics in the snow.
