Our voluntary exchange program started on February 5, 2021. We have informed the national authorities and are in touch with our dealers to implement the program. The program will run for an indefinite period so that tires can also be exchanged at a later date (see also item “Costs”). Nevertheless, we strongly recommend that you check the tires on your car before you use it again. The tires concerned must be exchanged as soon as possible.
Continental will credit the full purchase price of the replacement tire (including costs for mounting, balancing etc. if applicable) for all exchanges made until December 31, 2021.
After December 31, 2021, the compensation will be based on the currently valid version of the Continental warranty regulation.
Due to a non-conforming production process, the tires could potentially have an instantaneous pressure loss with a possible negative effect on vehicle handling. To date, Continental has not received any reports of accidents or injuries in connection with this condition. The exchange program is being initiated voluntarily to avoid any potential risk to vehicle drivers and other road-users. The affected tires were delivered to customers in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Estonia.
The applicable production procedure was updated immediately upon the discovery of the non-conformity. All other IceContact 3 tires have been produced properly.
To date, Continental has not received any reports of accidents or injuries in connection to the tires in scope of this exchange program.
We have compiled further information including contacts of local tire dealerships on our internet page. Please contact your local tire dealer in case of further questions.
