Voluntary Exchange Program
The tires can be identified by brand, size, Department of Transportation (DOT) week codes and the tire mold number, which are outlined below. The last four digits of the DOT serial numbers indicate the production period (week/year). Affected tires will be replaced free of charge.

The last four digits of the DOT serial numbers indicate the production period (week/year).
Affected tires will be replaced (with new Continental/General Tire tires) by the tire dealer where you have purchased the tires.

Continental will credit the full purchase price of the replacement tire (including costs for mounting, balancing etc. if applicable) for all exchanges made on new Continental/General Tire tires until September 30, 2021. After September 30, 2021 the compensation will based on the currently valid version of the Continental warranty regulation.
The impacted tires may experience sudden air loss or belt edge separation which could lead to partial or full tread loss. Continental has not received any reports of accidents or injuries resulting from this condition

Our voluntary exchange program started on March 19th, 2021. We have informed the national authorities and are in touch with our dealers to implement the program. The program will run for all exchanges made on new Continental/General Tire tires until September 30, 2021. After September 30, 2021 the compensation will based on the currently valid version of the Continental warranty regulation. We strongly recommend that you check the tires of your car before you use it again. The tires concerned have be exchanged as soon as possible.
