Hanover/Korbach, May 14, 2019. Offering reliable grip even on wet surfaces – this outstanding feature helped the latest sports tire, ContiSportAttack 3, clinch the title “Test Winner in the Wet” in the June issue of sports bike magazine, PS. The tire’s balanced properties also catapulted the Korbach “athlete” onto the winners’ podium in the overall rankings – with just three points separating first place from third place.
A Yamaha YZF-R1 with tire dimensions of 120/70 ZR 17 in the front and 190/55 ZR 17 in the rear was used as the test vehicle. The testers focused on several key performance indicators such as performance characteristics in the cold, handling, accuracy, stability and grip on wet and dry roads, as well as assessing adhesion at the limit, righting moment and feedback. In the wet weather test, the ContiSportAttack 3 scored 87 out of 100 points becoming the “Test Winner in the Wet,” and received an overall score of 260 out of 300 possible points earning it 3rd place (2nd place: 261 points, 1st place: 263 points). Those ranked just below the top three scored 249, 247 and 241 points.
“In wet weather, it sets (...) the record. The ‘number three’ also has plenty of grip and consequently handles well at the limit. (...) A great, sporty all-rounder,” concluded the PS editors.
