Continental’s Sensor Ready Tire
Revolutionizing Digital Tire Monitoring
A built-in solution that simplifies digital tire sensor installation—saving time, reducing cost, and supporting the full tire lifecycle.
Continental Tire has introduced a groundbreaking innovation—the Sensor Ready tire—designed to simplify and streamline digital tire monitoring for commercial fleets. The Sensor Ready tire comes with a sensor pocket and is currently available in the Conti Coach HA3 and is set to expand across Continental’s tire portfolio. Tires featuring this technology will have a “Sensor Ready” marking on the sidewall for easy identification.
What Is the Sensor Pocket?
The Sensor Pocket is a built-in component of the tire, formed directly during the curing process. Designed to securely hold Continental’s digital tire sensor, it eliminates the need for adhesives or added components on the tire’s inner liner.
By integrating the pocket directly into the tire structure, Continental removes labor-intensive installation steps while improving consistency and long-term durability.
Key Benefits for Fleets, Retreaders, and Dealers
Save up to 6–10 minutes per tire on installation by eliminating cleaning, gluing, curing, and rework caused by installation failures.
The Sensor Pocket remains intact throughout retreading. Only the sensor is removed and reinstalled—preserving casing value and reducing downtime.
Sensors can be installed using basic tools such as an automotive trim tool. No adhesives, special training, or proprietary equipment needed.
Extensive internal testing confirms no impact on tire performance, balance, bead systems, or moisture accumulation. Sensor functionality remains uncompromised.
If the casing near the pocket is damaged, standard industry repair procedures apply.
Easy to Identify: Sensor Ready
Tires equipped with the Sensor Pocket will feature a “Sensor Ready” marking on the sidewall, making identification simple at the fleet, dealer, or retread facility.
How the Sensor Pocket Works
Unlike traditional glued sensor pockets, Continental’s Sensor Pocket is molded directly into the tire during manufacturing. This ensures a consistent fit, eliminates adhesive-related failures, and simplifies installation throughout the tire’s service life.
- Tire is manufactured with integrated sensor pocket
- Sensor is inserted without adhesives
- Sensor is removed and reinstalled during retreading
Built for the Full Tire Lifecycle
Retreading is essential to controlling total cost of ownership. The Sensor Pocket supports this by maintaining structural integrity throughout the casing’s life.
There’s no need to replace glued pockets or rework liners—only the sensor moves from life to life.
