Specialist Pneumatic Tires for Maximum Efficiency

Industrial Pneumatic Tires

Industrial Pneumatic

They provide comfort on all surfaces and therefore offer the protection of people, goods and material in many transporting and lifting tasks. The tire’s benefits are good riding properties, good traction capability and effortless handling. Therewith Continental’s Pneumatic Tires are typically recommended for forklift trucks, trailers for in-plant applications, industrial tractors, airport apron vehicles, heavy load transport vehicles.

The pneumatic range consists of the two construction types, Radial and Crossply Tires:

Radial TiresCrossply Tires (or Bias Tires)
High mileageEnhanced stability (on paved grounds)
Enhanced ride comfortResistant to sidewall damage
Very good tractionGood traction
Low rolling resistance
Electroconductive

A Radial Tire has a carcass of one or more layers out of fibers or steel which runs directly from bead to bead (radial). The tread is stabilized by steel belts. Continental’s Pneumatic Radial Tires guarantee comfort because of their flexible sidewalls. With their low Rolling Resistance you will save energy. That’s why Radial Tires are best suitable for outdoor application and long runs. They are mainly used on forklift trucks, heavy-duty transport vehicles as well as indoor service trailers or platform trucks.

The Tubeless Sealing Ring (TSR) is a product which enables the mounting of Continental industrial radial tires on standard industrial vehicle rims, which, because of their construction, must normally be mounted with a tube and a flap. The TSR consists of a rubber ring with an integrated tire inflation valve. The rubber ring sits on the cylindrical part of the rim between the beads of the tire, and ensures an airtight interface sealing the tire chamber without the use of a tube and flap.

A Crossply (or Bias) Tire  has a carcass that consists of multiple layers of fabric. These fabrics run diagonally from one bead to the other. The tread and sidewall of a Crossply Tire are coupled to form a single unit. All shock absorbing movements of the sidewall are transferred into the tread. The contact patch width varies in size and shape according to the ground surface. In conclusion Continental’s Pneumatic Crossply Tires are flexible, but have a very high damage resistance at the same time. With these properties Crossply Tires fit best to industrial tractors, airport vehicles, self-powered lift vehicles.
