ContiConnect sensors mounted inside your fleet's tires measure tire health – including mileage, temperature, and pressure – throughout the trip. This data can then be conveniently monitored on the ContiConnect platform from any device.
Depending on whether you use the TPMS ContiConnect Lite, ContiConnect Pro Yard or ContiConnect Pro Live, you need different hardware components.
ContiConnect sensors are already built into Continental's intelligent tires or can be retrofitted to any tire. Permanently embedded in the tire, they monitor vital information such as tire pressure, temperature, and mileage to ensure peak tire performance and safety. Continental is currently developing the Gen3 In-Tire Sensor, which collects data that, when processed by our in-house AI, predicts tread wear and pull-point.
Valve Cap Sensors are a bridge solution for initial fast installation until the In-Tire Sensor can be inserted. The Valve Cap Sensor provides continuous tire pressure data to prevent tire damage and breakdowns.
In addition to the In-Tire, all you need is your smartphone to transmit tire data via Bluetooth® to the ContiConnect App.
ContiConnect Pro Live provides real-time tire health monitoring, 24/7. Tire measurement data can be conveniently viewed from any device using the ContiConnect platform. In addition to the In-Tire Sensor, some other hardware components are required to enable real-time tracking and monitoring.
The In-Cabin Unit, installed in the driver's cab, acts as a central control unit, processing and forwarding data to the driver and the fleet management system. The electrical connection is made through a special wiring harness connected to the vehicle's electrical system (battery, ignition, CAN bus if required).
The battery-powered Trailer Unit receives sensor data from the trailer's tires and transmits it to the IoT platform in real-time. The Trailer Unit is placed below the truck's trailer. Each battery provides at least four weeks of service and is recharged while the vehicle is in motion. The batteries enable data transmission even when the trailer is parked.
The Enabler Unit is mounted on the vehicle frame (truck/trailer). It receives sensor signals and forwards the data to the In-Cabin Unit when longer distances need to be covered. This component requires a regular power supply. The Enabler Unit is best placed at the end of the frame of a tractor or in the center of the frame of a truck. For trucks with trailers, one Enabler Unit can be mounted on the truck and one on the trailer.
ContiConnect Pro Yard is designed for vehicles regularly returning to a dedicated checkpoint or depot. As they pass through the checkpoint's readout station – called Yard Reader – tire data is transmitted to the ContiConnect platform and can be accessed from any device.

The Yard Reader is a stationary device that automatically receives tire data from the sensors mounted inside the tires as vehicles pass by or stop nearby. It then transmits this data to the ContiConnect backend enabling proactive tire maintenance and fleet monitoring. It is typically mounted at key stopping points within the fleet yard, like the entrance, exit, or fueling station.
