Safety is more than just a choice of colour
Let's talk about our YellowContact + once again. At this point we have allowed ourselves a little April Fools’ joke. Why? Because we want to show how much influence tires can have on driver safety.
But of course, it is not the color of a tire that defines its safety. Rather, innovative approaches and advanced technologies enable us to make road traffic even safer every day. Want an example?
Shorter braking distances
With the PremiumContact 7, we have developed a tire that sets new standards in terms of safety and braking distances:
- Experience safe driving behaviour on both wet and dry roads – thanks to the adaptable tread pattern
- Enjoy safety and comfort regardless of vehicle type and drive system
- Rely on safe braking from the very first moment – thanks to our RedChili tire compound
Our commitment to research and development is paying off: the PremiumContact 7 was ranked as “highly recommended” by the Touring Club Switzerland. The TCS tested 16 summer tires in the size 215/55 R17 mounted on a VW T-Roc. Our PremiumContact 7 not only is rated as “highly recommended” but showed very good results in the category "Driving Safety", where both wet and dry braking was tested. On a wet road driving with a speed of 80 km/h, the test vehicle with our PremiumContact 7 stops 3 metres ahead of the second ranked tire. This leads to more safety thanks to shorter stopping distances.
* tested by the Touring Club Switzerland. The test result was published in February 2024. The graphic shown is for illustration purposes only. The braking distance of a vehicle depends on its type, its age, the brakes and the tires used, as well as the road surface.
