Tire Maintenance

How to clean your tires?

Clean the tires with plenty of water with, at the most, only a small amount of dishwashing liquid or liquid soap. Never use brake cleaner, benzene, acetone, thinning solutions or similar, as this will damage the tires. Wipe the tires immediately with an absorbent cloth, if any of these substances accidently land on the tires.

Is it harmful, if the tire or the label change colour?

Anti-aging agents have been added to the rubber in the tires; however, tires will still become brittle over time and eventually crack. Very brittle tires should be replaced for your safety. Therefore, always avoid leaving the bicycle or tires and tubes in direct sunlight or close to radiators. If not used for a longer period, e.g. in winter, ensure that the tires are pumped up adequately and that you store the bicycle in a dark but not damp room.
