What does the sidewall of your all-season tire look like and what do the symbols mean?

Our all-season tires are designed to provide reliable performance in a variety of weather conditions, including winter conditions with low temperatures and occasional snowfall. 

They feature symbols such as the M+S (mud and snow) and 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake) on the sidewall, indicating their suitability for use in mud and light snow, as well as in low temperatures with occasional snowfall, as they are considered to be traction tires.  

However, it is important to note that all-season tires are not a substitute for winter tires in harsh winter conditions where temperatures regularly drop significantly below freezing. If you live in an area with severe winters,consider dedicated winter tires where required by law or appropriate for the expected conditions.

How long do all-season tires last?

Among other things, the tire material composition plays a big role in how long the tires last. Road conditions and driving habits also influence their lifespan: Rough roads or aggressive driving can cause faster wear.

Vehicle factors like suspension condition affect tire longevity too: Worn suspension parts can lead to uneven or premature wear.

Maintaining all-season tires

What is the difference between summer tires and all-season tires?

Summer tires are optimized for warm weather, designed to support grip and responsive handling on dry and wet roads. Their rubber stays soft in the heat, enhancing braking and cornering.

All-season tires, on the other hand, are made for a variety of conditions, performing well in both warm and cooler temperatures, and handling light snow. However, they don’t match the high-performance grip of summer tires in hot weather.

Summer tires have performance-focused tread patterns, with fewer grooves and more rubber contact for better traction. All-season tires have deeper grooves and more siping for improved grip in rain and light snow.

In cold conditions, summer tires lose flexibility, reducing their effectiveness. All-season tires use compounds that stay pliable, which may support performance in changing or colder weather.
