German engineered performance for every winter situation.
Peace of mind while driving along a snowy road is not a coincidence: it’s more likely because of our S-GRIP pattern, designed for enhanced snow traction to keep you in control.
There are many reasons to stay at home in winter and two reasons to go wherever you want: On one hand: “PrecisionPlus” guarantees optimized handling on snowy ground. And on the other: “PowerSipes” is built to provide outstanding dry handling.
Equipped with our superior technologies, this tire takes you safely wherever you want to go and helps you stop immediately whenever you have to.
The German magazine Auto Bild has published in issue 38/2020 their Winter Tire Super Test 2020.
The tested tire size was 245/45 R18 100 V, test vehicle was a BMW 5-series.
This test is a special test with 51 participating products. The evaluation consists of 3 parts:
Part 1: Wet braking test: selection of the best 30 products
Part 2: Snow braking test of these 30 products: selection of the best 20 Products, the so called "finalists".
Part 3: Complete test of only the finalists including wear performance and price.
The test was conducted by Auto Bild on following proving grounds:
+ Specialist on wet surface with sporty and dynamic handling properties at all weather conditions
+ Precise steering behavior
+ Very good wear performance
- Longer dry braking distance
- higher price level
The wet grip rating indicates how well the tire will perform in wet conditions, with performance graded from class A down to class E. A high grade means short braking distances on wet roads.
Reduced rolling resistance saves fuel and cuts CO2 emissions. Class A tires deliver the best fuel efficiency, with fuel consumption increasing for each subsequent class through to E.
This is the external rolling noise generated by the tire, measured in decibels. The label shows the noise level rated in classes from A to C.
In addition to these three label values, there are also pictograms − if applicable − relating to performance in severe snow conditions (3PMSF) and/or grip in icy conditions (the latter applies to passenger car tires only).
With the EU label generator, you can access the specific label values for your Continental tires.
