Our ContiTread retread tires are crafted with precision using our advanced cold retreading method with pre-cured and vulcanized tire treads and our audited 10-step ContiLifeCycle retread process.
Only Grade A, carefully inspected casings are used during this process. Each retread undergoes rigorous quality control, from the initial inspection and repairs to tread application, curing, and final inspection.
Step 1: Initial Inspection
Thorough initial casing inspection using state-of-the-art technology.
Step 2: Shearography
Investigation for any trapped air or potential belt separations.
Step 3: Buffing
Computer-controlled buffing countours and ensures consistent under-tread thickness.
Step 4: Skiving
Professional casing skiving finds depth of injuries and determines what repairs are needed.
Step 5: Repairs
Casing damage or punctures found during the inspection are professionally repaired.
Step 6: Extruding
Uncured cushion gum is applied to the casing prior to application of the pre-cured tread.
Step 7: Tread Building
The pre-cured tread is applied to the casing and cushion gum with guided precision.
Step 8: Enveloping
The tire receives an outer and inner envelop to provide pressure against the casing and tread needed for curing.
Step 9: Curing
The tire undergoes vulcanization in the curing chamber with precisely controlled time, temperature and pressure.
Step 10: Final Inspection
The retreaded tire is examined for a final time which includes inflation testing and a 7 point visual inspection.
